When the extraordinary turns into daily life: an artistic journey inside the new “Colosseum” metro station

Metronauti Stazione Colosseo - Fori Imperiali

On December 16, 2025, Rome unveiled two new stations on Line C — Colosseo/Fori Imperiali and Porta Metronia: unique spaces suspended between past and future, where modernity walks alongside two thousand years of history.

METRONAUTI is the artistic project that narrates this first day as a visionary unboxing: the Colosseo Fori Imperiali station lights up — literally and symbolically — through the kinetic and musical energy of performers and musicians, in a journey that is both dance and revelation. Every movement opens a space, every passage unveils a detail, and what is usually a crossing becomes stage and museum, threshold and spectacle.

Voices of experts weave into the narrative: Marco Cervone (Construction Manager of the building consortium), Andrea Sciotti (Project Director), Alfonsina Russo (Head of Department for Cultural Heritage Enhancement, Ministry of Culture). Interviews that do not interrupt the journey — they deepen it. Technical and poetic, civic and dreamlike, METRONAUTI brings together expertise and wonder, concreteness and myth.

Then, suddenly, the magic fades. Bodies return to stillness, the music stops, the train departs. Everyone becomes a simple traveler again.

Because the Metronauts are us — ordinary people who, from today, will be passengers of these new stations. Immersed in beauty.

In Rome, even the incredible is part of daily life. And this journey, begun two thousand years ago, continues. Underground. In motion.
