The main measures activated to prevent the spreading of COVID-19
In face of #Covid19 pandemic, we are taking extra care of our people so we can complete public works that are essential for communities everywhere. From our offices to our construction sites, we are applying best-in-class measures to safeguard the health of our employees and encourage them to behave appropriately so we can all make a difference.
Starting from the lockdown phase, Webuild has taken initiatives to address the COVID-19 emergency, to counter its spreading among its employees, while continuing to ensure a continuity of its strategic projects, for communities and for its clients. With these objectives a task force has been set up, which daily defines and updates the measures to take. It monitors the situation, globally, in over 100 construction sites, in 5 continents, collaborating with all territorial economic and social partners.
About 650 people are dedicated, full-time, to this activity, the priority of which is to introduce every action needed to ensure adequate safety standards in all countries where the Group works, with over 50,000 people trained or informed about the anti- Covid risks and procedures.

Covid-19: Webuild’s initiatives
Since February 2020, the spread of the COVID-19 virus has strained the global production system as well as the ability of companies to operate.
We are therefore aware that this crisis entrusts us with a double responsibility: on one hand, to protect, safeguard and guarantee the health of our workers, by adopting the strictest measures to ensure the physical safety of our people; on the other, guaranteeing the continuation of our activities, both in our offices and in our construction sites.
In its global construction sites, our Group undertakes to keep this promise: building large infrastructure assets needed by communities, while safeguarding its workers at the same time.

During the Lockdown phase: from Webuild a message of hope for Genoa
21/03/2020 - In Genoa, a beam of light with Italy’s tricoloured flag (green, white and red) connected the two extremities of the bridge being built over the Polcevera River, a symbol of rebirth. With this initiative, Webuild wished to express its solidarity to the Country and to the city of Genoa, in light of the COVID-19 emergency.
This symbolic gesture pays homage to everyone involved in saving lives and ensuring indispensable services to the country – without ever resting. Through it, the Group wishes also to thank all those workers and other people working in its construction sites, both in Italy and globally, with great sense of responsibility.
