The Rome and Athens Auditoria: two public works of the third millennium

There are places which contain and spread culture to promote social development of the territories, because culture is the infrastructure for ideas. This is the thought behind our vision of progress. The Parco della Musica Auditorium in Rome and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre in Athens are practical examples of this vision, which is why from 4 December 2018 to 7 January 2019, we celebrated these two public works with a photographic exhibition hosted at the Parco della Musica Auditorium, in collaboration with the National Academy of Santa Cecilia.

L'Auditorium di Roma e l'Auditorium di Atene: due opere pubbliche del terzo millennio

The exhibition of photos of the Auditorium and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre in Athens told the story of these two works designed by world famous architect Renzo Piano and built by Salini Impregilo, which each made a contribution to an entire community.

In Rome and Athens, the Auditorium and Cultural Centre both created a true, real-life agora, inhabited by ideas and creativity to assign new value to the areas and create a virtual circle, encouraging humanity and economies to meet.  By uniting functionality and design, and responding to the direct need of people, these spaces have managed to create a community and start a real process of urban restoration, while protecting its beauty.

The exhibition, which accompanied visitors as they discovered the projects, was a collection of Moreno Maggi’s precious photos, from the initial stages of the construction sites to the final accolade of the two places as cultural and artistic meeting points.
