MILAN, August 12, 2026 – Following the Milano Derby between AC Milan and Inter, and the Derby d'Italia between Juventus and Inter, the latest match between Juventus and Palermo this week brings the curtain down on Calcio Italiano, the event that has brought four of Italy's most prestigious football clubs to Western Australia for the first time. Webuild is supporting the initiative as Major Event Partner, backing an event that has attracted football fans, Italian-Australian communities and visitors from across the country. 

Held exclusively in Perth from August 5 to 11, Calcio Italiano featured three high-profile fixtures: AC Milan versus Inter, attended by 53,000 spectators; Juventus versus Inter, which drew 56,000 fans; and Juventus versus Palermo, giving Australian audiences the opportunity to witness some of the most iconic rivalries in Italian football while strengthening ties between Italy and one of the world's most vibrant Italian communities. 

The initiative forms part of a broader programme of major international events promoted by Western Australia to attract visitors, investment and global attention, reinforcing Perth's position as a leading destination for world-class sporting and cultural events. 

Webuild's support for Calcio Italiano reflects the Group's longstanding commitment to Australia. Through Clough, the engineering and construction company founded in Perth in 1919 and part of the Webuild Group since 2023, Webuild has been contributing to the development of strategic infrastructure across the country for more than a century, spanning transportation, energy, water and healthcare. 

Recent projects include the Perth Airport Line, the New Women's and Babies Hospital Project, the K2 Power Station and the upgrade of the Woodman Point Water Resource Recovery Facility. These sit alongside major projects under development elsewhere in Australia, including Snowy 2.0, the country's largest hydroelectric scheme, being delivered with the participation of Clough.
