Lane (Webuild) completes the 183A Phase III road extension in Texas

17 bridges and more than 8 kilometres of highway to support rapidly expanding communities and businesses

MILAN, October 26, 2026 – Lane, the U.S. subsidiary of Webuild, has received final acceptance for the completed Phase III extension of the 183A toll highway designed to improve mobility in Williamson County, north of Austin, Texas. Commissioned by the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority, the project extended one of the county’s main transportation corridors by approximately 8.5 kilometres (5.3 miles). It included two toll lanes in each direction between Hero Way and the area north of State Highway 29, and 17 bridge crossings.

The extension will help alleviate future congestion and reduce driving times for commuters in a county experiencing significant population and economic growth. Cedar Park, Leander and Liberty Hill, in particular, are undergoing rapid development, creating a growing need for infrastructure.

The 183A Phase III Extension project is one of a number being carried out by Webuild and Lane in the United States, a market with growth opportunities driven by investment programmes to modernise transportation, water and energy infrastructure. With Lane, which has been operating in the country for more than 135 years, the Group is involved in some of the country’s most significant projects, helping to develop more efficient and resilient road and highway networks.

Webuild is engaged in the Palisades rail tunnels in the New York area and the upgrade of key sections of Interstate 85 in North Carolina and Interstate 75 in Florida. Since the beginning of the year, the Webuild Group has secured new contracts such as the Ohio River Tunnel in Pittsburgh aimed at improving the water quality of the city’s three rivers, as well as infrastructure works along major corridors including Interstate 4 in Florida and Interstate 64 in Virginia.
