Webuild and Italy’s Carabinieri renew the agreeement first signed in 2023 on Legal Compliance, Safety and Protection of Infrastructure

The agreement between Webuild and Carabinieri has been expanded and renewed for a further three years, covering training, legal compliance, anti-mafia prevention, work safety, and anti-labour exploitation measures, cybersecurity and protection of strategic infrastructure

MILAN, July 28, 2026 – The Memorandum of Understanding Webuild and the Carabinieri (Italy’s national gendarmerie) has been renewed and expanded for a further three years. The agreement strengthens the collaboration launched in 2023 and broadens joint activities in the areas of legal compliance, anti-mafia prevention, work safety, protection of strategic infrastructure, cybersecurity and risk prevention across the supply chain.

The agreement, signed by Pietro Salini, Chief Executive Officer of Webuild, and General Andrea Taurelli Salimbeni, Chief of Staff of the Carabinieri, consolidates the partnership already in place while extending its scope to key issues related to the delivery and management of major infrastructure projects.

It provides for joint initiatives across several areas, ranging from specialised HEAT (Hostile Environment Awareness Training) programs for personnel operating in high-risk environments, to the promotion of legal compliance and anti-mafia prevention through the procurement chain. It also includes activities related to work safety and the fight against labour exploitation, with the support of the Carabinieri Command for Labour Protection, cybersecurity and the protection of critical infrastructure, as well as enhanced information-sharing mechanisms aimed at preventing and mitigating risks.

The renewal of the agreement confirms that safety and legality in the delivery of major infrastructure projects are strategic pillars of the Group’s activities. In Italy, Webuild is engaged in the construction of 34 major infrastructure projects involving more than 22,000 people and a supply chain of over 15,200 companies since the start of works. 

The collaboration between Webuild and the Carabinieri therefore aims to ensure the highest standards of safety, legal compliance, transparency and oversight throughout the entire infrastructure development process and across the related production supply chains.
