ROME, May 12, 2026 – Piazza Venezia reveals a new face with the installation "Futuro a Vista" by Pierpaolo Ferrari of the TOILETPAPER artistic collective. The piece was created as part of the “MURALES” project, sponsored by the consortium led by the Webuild Group and Vianini Lavori, which is building Line C of the Rome Metro. It transforms the 10 silos at the construction site in the piazza into an imposing 640-square-meter visual narrative, confirming Webuild's commitment to creating sustainable mobility that enhances the urban aesthetic and cultural fabric.

At the heart of the installation are two children peering toward the horizon through a rift. This image, filled with wonder, serves as a metaphor for discovery and the anticipation of tomorrow, ideally representing a city evolving toward the future. The artist chose to reinterpret classical iconography through a Pop Art lens, creating a visual bridge between the history of Piazza Venezia and the technological innovation running beneath the surface. In this way, the construction site becomes a cultural hub capable of engaging passersby with an image of hope and vitality.

The installation marks the fourth of the “MURALES: Contemporary Art in the Metro” series. The project, under the patronage of Roma Capitale and organized in collaboration with the Superintendencies, aims to integrate work sites into the social context, transforming them into a grand urban theatrical stage. With this open-air gallery, Webuild emphasises how the construction of major sustainable mobility infrastructure can coexist with the protection of artistic heritage and the regeneration of public spaces.

"Futuro a Vista" continues the narrative journey started in 2024, following works by Pietro Ruffo, Marinella Senatore, and Elisabetta Benassi. Each installation has explored a different connection between the subway and the community, celebrating the value of both technical and archaeological labour.

The Venezia Station will be one of the deepest and most complex in Europe, with six underground levels. It will provide direct access to some of the city's major cultural landmarks: Palazzo Venezia, the Vittoriano and the Roman Forum. The station will be an "archaeo-station," with the entire first level dedicated to a museum area housing archaeological remains unearthed during the excavation.
