MILAN, November 2, 2026 – A strategic alliance between infrastructure and academia to address the growing demand for expertise in engineering and project management, while facilitating young people's entry into the sector and the development of their managerial skills. With this aim, Webuild has officially joined the shareholder structure of the POLIMI Graduate School of Management, one of Europe’s leading business schools. It has also launched a new Graduate Program with a second-level Master's Degree in Construction & Project Management.
“Partnerships with companies are essential so that education can have a tangible impact. With Webuild, we have set out a course that combines academic excellence with industrial experience. It will offer young talent the opportunity to learn through an accelerated programme and contribute from the outset to strategic projects that support sustainable growth and progress,” said Federico Frattini, Dean of POLIMI Graduate School of Management.
“Behind every major project are people who have envisioned it, designed it and brought it to life. That is why, at Webuild, we consider human capital to be our most important asset,” said Pietro Salini, Chief Executive of Webuild. “The infrastructure of the future requires new skills and leaders capable of operating within a context that is increasingly complex and global. Through this Graduate Program, we are investing in the development of a new generation of talent, offering a path of accelerated growth that combines managerial vision with hands-on experience in the field. Developing skills means strengthening the competitiveness of Italy and Europe and preparing the leaders who will drive the major transformations of the coming decades.”
The partnership aims to create a genuine talent pipeline that will develop professionals who will lead the delivery of the large, complex infrastructure projects required for energy transition, digital transformation and the development of sustainable mobility. A key part of the initiative is providing employment combined with an accelerated development plan for talented young professionals. Promising graduates who are selected for the program will be hired by Webuild from their very first day, embarking on a course that combines hands-on operational experience with excellence in management training, accelerating their career within the Group. Participants will alternate between work at construction sites and corporate office and classwork developed by the Webuild Academy in collaboration with the business school of Politecnico di Milano. They will ultimately earn a second-level Master's Degree from Politecnico di Milano.
The Master's Degree program provides the technical, managerial and organisational skills required to manage in an innovative way the entire lifecycle of major infrastructure projects. The curriculum covers design and engineering, economic planning, contract management and procurement, the application of new digital technologies and artificial intelligence, risk management, and the achievement of the highest sustainability standards.
Webuild’s entry into the shareholder structure of the POLIMI Graduate School of Management further strengthens a long-standing collaboration built over the years through applied research initiatives and excellent educational programs. The initiative reinforces Webuild’s commitment to supporting high-quality youth employment by creating career opportunities in one of the sectors most crucial to sustainable growth and infrastructure development. The education and development of young talent are a fundamental pillar of the Group’s strategy to sustain long-term growth, innovation and competitiveness.
