Coronavirus emergency: Webuild offers additional staff insurance

MILAN, March 30, 2020 – With the health and well-being of its employees a longstanding priority, the Salini Impregilo Group has decided to provide additional insurance to those who work in Italy or are on assignment abroad in order to support them in the event they are hospitalised for the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The policy, which is being considered by members of consortia to which Salini Impregilo belongs in Italy as well as by subsidiaries owned by the Group, offers a daily allowance for anyone who receives treatment, and an additional non-recurring indemnity for intensive care. The policy will cover other services such as psychological counselling after treatment. This coverage is in addition to the insurance coverage and health assistance the Group already offers its employees.
The initiative is the latest by the Group to protect the health of its workers during this unprecedented emergency as it adopts the strictest health and safety measures for Salini Impregilo employees, whether they be at the office and on a construction site.
From the new bridge in Genoa to other construction sites in the world, Salini Impregilo is trying to keep working as long as the necessary safety conditions can allow it. It is applying the strictest rules as it looks at guaranteeing continuity at public works that are strategic for communities and clients. The Group has also put into place a task of more than 120 people who define and adapt procedures on a daily basis as conditions warrant it. It also monitors the application of prevention and containment measures for eventual problems that might occur in more than 100 work sites on five continents.
In this national emergency, the Group is also turning its attention the communities where it operates. In an expression of solidarity to the regions in Italy that have been hardest hit, Salini Impregilo has donated 70,000 FFP2 masks to be used by the most vulnerable.
