Webuild consortium signs $955 million contract in Kuwait

Milan, July 1, 2016 – Salini Impregilo has signed with Kuwait’s Public Authority for Housing Welfare a $955 million contract, announced June 17, to build an urban residential development northwest of Kuwait City as part of the South Al Mutlaa Housing Project.
The contract, which was signed by Minister of State for Housing Affairs Yasser Abel, will have a consortium led by Salini Impregilo and including Kolin of Turkey build the largest city in Kuwait with nearly 400,000 residents.
“Though big, the project to develop the infrastructure of the city is expected to be implemented in a record time thanks to the long experiences of Salini and Kolin and the cooperation by PAHW,” the minister said.
The project comprises, among other things, the construction of 150 km of roads and related structures and numerous art works, lighting infrastructure, water distribution, rain-water gathering and sewage systems, and other civil works necessary for the distribution of electricity, installation of telecommunications networks and traffic control.
