New success for the Aniene sailing team, sponsored by Webuild for Rio's 2016 Olympic Games

July 13, 2015 - Strong determination and steadfastness push the Circolo Canottieri Aniene sailing team, sponsored by Salini Impregilo, towards Rio's 2016 Olympic Games. The crew, composed of Giulia Conti and Francesca Clapcich of the Circolo Canottieri Aniene, with the Salini Impregilo and Italian Air Force brands, is in fact the European champion for the 49er FX Class, with an outstanding final that brought the two Italian women from the fifth to the first position.
Giulia Conti and Francesca Clapcich obtain their sixth consecutive positive result by winning the European 49er FX. Conti, Clapcich and Gianfranco Sibello's victory is the result of great team work that allowed the two athletes to react with confidence, after two years marked by unfortunate injuries.
“We are very happy, of course, but also quite tired as we sailed various races, every day, in really demanding conditions", explains Francesca Clapcich. “We are an all-round crew - commented Giulia Conti -, we race well in every type of condition and this championship can testify for this”.
This desire for improvement, for loyalty and team spirit are fundamental values in life, work and sport activities, and they are also pillar stones for the culture represented by the Salini Impregilo Group. These common points have enabled the creation of a four-year partnership between Salini Impregilo and Circolo Canottieri Aniene, which aims at supporting the Rio de Janeiro 2016 project. The sponsorship derives from the desire of the Group to expand the activities of the Circolo Canottieri Aniene sailing team, supporting young athletes aspiring to compete in the 2016 Rio De Janeiro Olympics.
“We believe that this project, which supports the sporting activities of the ten young Circolo Canottieri Aniene crews with great aspirations in an environmentally-friendly sport such as sailing, mirrors the values that underpin our corporate mission and can be summed up by a focus on expertise, “clean” energy, ambition and an international scope”, declared Pietro Salini, CEO of Salini Impregilo, formulating his and the Group's best wishes to Clapcich and to Conti
