Nielsen Intranet Design Award: Webuild Wins the 2016 Edition

January 11, 2016 - A global success for @work, Salini Impregilo’s intranet, which won the Nielsen Norman Group award, making it one of the world’s 10 best intranets in the 2016 edition of the contest thanks to the variety of its content and its solid technical and professional infrastructure. The award was announced by the Nielsen Norman Group, leader in the communication and research sectors. @work is among the winners of the 16th edition of the annual Intranet Design contest, making it a best case at world level.
As underlined by Jakob Nielsen, principal of the Nielsen Norman Group, the underlying themes that guided the development of the intranet are the joining of two corporate cultures, Salini’s and Impregilo’s, and the internal communication style, aimed at creating the employees’ systematic information and participation. “@work features sundry news, a variety of tools and social features, integrated in a solid infrastructure”.
The jury valued not only the final product, but also the work method and how the intranet communicated and engaged users; @work excelled as regards usability, multilingual format and user involvement – elements that accompany and distinguish the Group’s intranet from the development phase.
For these reasons @work was added as a study case to the prestigious Intranet Design Annual 2016 report, published on the consulting firm’s website, acting as a reference point for companies and web agencies around the world.
“After the Ragan’s Employee Communications Awards 2014, the Intra.NET Awards 2015 and the nomination received among the Top 5 in the European Excellence Awards 2015, this acknowledgement from the Nielsen Norman Group sets a new standard of excellence for Salini Impregilo’s communication”.
