September 30, 2015 – “If one doesn’t undertake public works, one will not be competitive in the future and this means remaining on the periphery of the world.” Such are the words of Salini Impregilo Chief Executive Pietro Salini spoken in an interview with “2Next – Economy and Future,” the economic news program of public television channel Rai 2 hosted by Annalisa Bruchi that was aired on Tuesday, September 29.

The interview was an occasion to talk about the state of public works in Italy and the world. “The company’s role is to create jobs. We invest in work and we have also done it in more difficult times”, Mr. Salini said.

Pietro Salini reiterated the Group’s Italian roots even though it looks beyond its borders. Headquarters outside the country was out of the question despite the fact that most of its revenues come from outside Italy, he said. But Salini confirmed there was an interest to make an acquisition abroad. “We are working on it,” he said in answer to a question by Bruchi about the Group’s expansion plans.
