Milan, April 30, 2021 - From worker safety, to training young people, to innovation and environmental sustainability. These are the issues addressed by Webuild CEO Pietro Salini, in an interview with "L'Italia con Voi", an information program of Rai Italia, the Rai channel for Italians that live around the world. It was given for the Labour Day celebration, which will take place on May 1st, in many countries, globally.

"From the Genoa San Giorgio Bridge to the Panama Canal, to the metros in Paris, Rome, New York, and Copenhagen, and our Italian high-speed railways too. It is very difficult not to use an infrastructure that has not been built by our Group. And this really makes us proud. Of building them, but also of having done a really good job too. And this was and is possible thanks to the 70 thousand people who daily team up in over 50 countries, even in the most extreme conditions. This must also make Italy proud too.”, commented Salini.

“We are close to celebrating Labour Day, on May 1st. It is our priority that everyone working for us, while still maybe going home tired in the evening, can be certain that they will, because of the safe work conditions that we guarantee. The Group continues to invest a lot on safety, because we can always do better on this topic, every day".

For Pietro Salini, sustainability really means work and training young people. Especially in a such complex moment, like this one, which we must all overcome by also building innovative infrastructures to serve as a driving force for the economic growth.

"Made in Italy does not only apply to the food and luxury sectors. It also stands for our great engineering tradition, which can be touched by hand, globally. In our main 18 ongoing Italian projects, we are currently working with 7,000 premium companies that also work with us globally. It is a bit like an Italian embassy that exports its great practical culture of getting things done well", concluded Salini.
