Riyadh’s Underground, Line 3: New Governor of Riyadh Faisal bin Bandar Al Saud’s first visit to site

February 23, 2015 - On Feb. 19, Riyadh Governor and Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA) Chairman Faisal bin Bandar Al Saud, together with Riyadh Mayor and ADA President Ibrahim Bin Muhammad Alsultan and Saudi Railway Authority Chairman Mohammed Khaled al Suwaiket visited the 3F1 construction site of Line 3 of Riyadh’s new underground system.

It was the governor’s first visit to the site since he was appointed a few weeks earlier. During the visit, he and the other guests expressed their appreciation for the progress made on the project.

Representatives of Arriyadh New Mobility (ANM), the consortium building Line 3 of which Salini Impregilo is a partner, were present to host the local authorities together with representatives of the other two consortia (FAST and BACS) that are also working on the underground.

The new underground system will be a modern, environmentally sustainable means of public transportation. It will help relieve the city’s heavy traffic. Riyadh has about six million inhabitants. Line 3 will be more than 40 km long and include 22 stations.

The project is approximately 11% complete.
