Webuild: a champion in growth performance

NEWS

August 6, 2015 - Mediobanca appoints Salini Impregilo champion in growth performance. R&S 2015, the traditional study that has been just circulated by the Italian investment bank and that concerns the consolidated financial data of 50 of the largest groups listed on the Stock Exchange, reported an increase of 81.2% in 2014 for the total turnover of the Group, leader in the construction sector, compared to the previous twelve months. This success was reached thanks to the results obtained from internal lines, due to international expansion (+115% of foreign revenue) and to external lines, due to the acquisition and integration of Salini with Impregilo.

The Executive Summary of the study, in pointing out that "he who misses the opportunity offered by the foreign market loses himself", states that the road to follow is offered by the private manufacturing industry and by the example of large contractors, among which Salini Impregilo occupies the first position with 83.1% of its turnover realised abroad.

Salini Impregilo, within the international competition, stands out as a source of wealth for the Country, placing itself at the top of the list, with its strong inclination to explore new markets. In just one year, the foreign turnover of the company has grown more than 13%, passing from 69.9% to 83.1%.

The study, now at its fortieth year, highlighted that Salini Impregilo is "Top 1" even in terms of occupational growth, with its huge 233.9% leap in 2014, reaching 34.137 employees. This is a trend that started five years ago and that has continued uninterrupted. The company's occupational growth, from 2010 to 2014, is equal to 307.6%. Following the orders that have been acquired abroad for infrastructures, and due to the company's ever growing organisational efficiency, the R&S study, points out that in the same long-term interval the number of executives in the company has been halved, passing from 2.2% to 1.1% of the total number of persons employed.

With regard to the distribution of dividends, the special classification offered by the R&S 2015 study also considers the capital gains on the transfer of shares, placing Salini Impregilo at the first position, with an average percentage of 12.2% for the 2010-2014 period, against an overall weighted average of 3.3% of the 50 largest Italian Groups.
