Webuild donates project to the city of Genoa for Bisagno River safety measures

October 16, 2014 - Salini Impregilo decides to donate the project for Bisagno River safety measures to the city of Genoa.
In response to a notice approved by the Region of Liguria, the Salini Impregilo Group wishes to show its sympathy to the city of Genoa by offering its expertise free of charge to help develop the executive design for Bisagno River safety measures.
"We are a global group, but our Italian roots impels us to provide concrete support to the population of Genoa at this difficult time - says CEO Pietro Salini – by offering our know-how and expertise to the executive design for Bisagno River safety measures, thus reducing the overall costs of the project for the institutions. We also hope that this will help speed up the work that needs to be done. We are of the opinion that being the main Group in the industry in Italy implies being willing to work together with our Country when there are dramatic situations like the one Genoa and its residents are experiencing right now. Therefore, it is important that a Group like ours, which believes in this Country and its ability to bounce back, asserts and demonstrates its active support in restoring the local territory, a preventive restoration to prevent tragedies like the recent one in Genoa and other parts of our Country from happening again in the future.
The announcement was made during the press conference in Genoa held by the CEO of Salini Impregilo, a company that has been operating for 100 years in sectors such as dams and hydroelectric plants, water works, railways and subways, airports and highways, civil and industrial construction.
Salini Impregilo, worldwide leader in the construction of major, complex projects, a dynamic Italian company able to compete with leading global players, operates in over 50 countries with over 31,000 employees, an annual turnover of roughly € 4 billion and a backlog of € 29 billion.
