Rome, 28 February 2017 - The schools of Macerata are starting over. Lessons in school are starting again for children and teenagers of Valfornace in the province of Macerata, the municipality created by the merger between the towns of Pievebovigliana and Fiordimonte, after the earthquakes of 26 and 30 October 2016 that destroyed most of the structures on the territory within the area. Today in Rome Salini Impregilo and municipality of Valfornace signed an agreement by which the construction company will donate an entire scholastic complex to the municipality of Valfornace. The complex, with 15 classrooms, will be large enough to house up to 100 children and youths of pre-school, primary school and lower level secondary school, who lost their school following the earthquake.

The agreement was signed before Vice Prefect Giuseppe Ranieri (Government Commissioner and representative for the Municipality of Valfornace) and Pietro Salini, CEO of Salini Impregilo, and calls for construction within 45 days, effective from the date the final design is approved.

The building that was home to the "Ugo Betti" school (pre-school, primary school and lower level secondary school) for the Municipality of Valfornace (MC) was severely damaged by the earthquake and will be replaced by a new complex with a total surface area of over 500 m2, sufficient room for about 100 children and youths with classrooms and shared spaces for a total of 17 sections. The building will be located near Piazza Vittorio Veneto, in the town centre.
