NEWS

August 6, 2015 - The global trade war revolving around Panama and Suez, the two canals that open shipping routes between continents and are part of a business worth billions featured today in the Italian newspaper "La Repubblica" as part of an investigative report on the Panama Canal Expansion, a colossal project, destined to rewrite the rules of trade, according  to  one of Italy's leading national daily newspapers.

Currently, 270 billion dollars worth of goods pass through the canal connecting  the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans every year reaching 1,700 ports in 160 countries through 144 routes.

This record  will be beaten by the new canal, which will be able to accommodate Post-Panamax ships with three times the capacity  of existing vessels.

The challenge to control the seas and secure a large share of the global economy depends on the trade routes.  This is where modern and technologically advanced infrastructures like the new Panama Canal play a key role in accelerating world growth.
