Multimedia immersive room launched to relive the new San Giorgio Bridge construction

Genoa, September 27, 2021 – Today, Webuild, will present its "Modello Genoa” (Genoa Model) at the 2021 G20 High-Level Conference on Local Infrastructure Investment Summit. The G20 Infrastructure Working Group meeting will be held in the Ligurian capital, where it will recall infrastructure’s centrality for Italy's development. And also, Webuild's role, and that of its entire supply chain, as enablers to accelerate the implementation of the infrastructural projects envisaged by the PNRR, and by the other financing instruments. 

The agenda, organized by the Italian G20 Presidency, the Municipality of Genoa and the Istituto Affari Internazionali, foresees the “The New San Giorgio Bridge in Genoa: reasons for success and replicability of the model" round table, at the Magazzini del Cotone, at 5 p.m., an opportunity for reflection on the model's replicability, between institutions and companies that built the new bridge, in just one year of work. The round table discussion, which will be opened by the Italian Minister of the Economy and Finance Daniele Franco, will be attended by Webuild CEO Pietro Salini, Fincantieri CEO Giuseppe Bono, Rina CEO Ugo Salerno, and Macquire Group Senior Managing Director Roberto Purcaro. 

Inaugurated on August 3, 2020, the new Genoa Bridge, built by Webuild, represents a reference work for innovative and sustainable infrastructure. From a simple construction site, it has now become a collective symbol of an Italy that is restarting, with strength and determination, to engage the recovery together with its entire chain of supply companies that currently work with Webuild in the various regions: 7,000 direct suppliers representing Italy's construction premium excellence, globally.

At the Summit, a multimedia immersive room was launched, set up by Webuild with the Municipality of Genoa, which, after the experience provided by Spazio Ponte, continues to illustrate the bridge's transparent construction experience: from the construction site's very early stages, to the work's completion (access link to the dedicated section of the site, available here). 

Walking through the immersive room is just like going through the construction site that has now become the Genoa Model, now an inspirational model for other construction sites in Italy to build sustainable, innovative and quality works, which are beautiful and built safely, and on schedule.
