“WeBuild”: New Salini Impregilo brand. Focus on mission, people, organisation and expertise

Milan, January 22, 2020 – The Board of Directors of Salini Impregilo approved the proposal of "WeBuild" as the new name for the Salini Impregilo Group, which shall be proposed at the next Shareholders' Meeting. It is a  name that very clearly evokes the company's vision, accompanied by a strong and direct verb, "Build", that represents the DNA of a construction company that builds large complex infrastructure, in addition to the values  of solidity, quality and partnership, which in the word “We" express the fundamental role played by people and teams, to create a business environment where sustainability and safety play an increasingly significant role.

These are the characteristics of the new name proposal to reach a new milestone in the evolutionary process of a Group that is evermore global, with strong roots in Italy. A growth process enhanced by Progetto Italia, thanks also to the participation of CDP Equity S.p.A. and  the main financial Italian institutions (Unicredit, Intesa San Paolo, Banco Popolare BPM).

This proposal is the result of a long and detailed analysis concerning the brand's value, international benchmarks and consultations with the most prestigious international companies in the brand identity sector, in addition to a survey engaging both internal and external stakeholders.

This naming innovation is coherent with the Group’s will to underpin the solid foundations built over time, whilst the logo with the 5 graphic elements “whirls” will be kept.

The Group's promise for the sector, "to build value", has been kept, linking this definition to the existing payoff  of the Salini Impregilo Group, and to the name of the proprietary digital magazine "We Build Value", first published in 2015. A new proprietary font, the "We Build type" font, has also been created, representing the continuous evolution of the Group's brand identity. The brand will thereby gain greater strength and will therefore be immediately distinguishable and more innovative.

We are taking another step forward in this significant industrial operation that brings growth - said Salini Impregilo Group CEO Pietro Salini. “The future of this new Group is and must increasingly be connected to a clear mission of industrial growth and must be the result of the union and enhancement of the expertise of everyone. This is very important for a Group with a global mission that competes with the largest international groups to build large complex infrastructure in over 50 countries. A Group that wishes to continue to grow by uniting companies, whose skills in the sector  must be strictly tied to safety and sustainability. We wish to be the best possible partners for clients, communities, institutions and territories”.

In consideration of  the above, today's Board of Directors  Meeting agreed to submit  the proposal  of the Group’s new name to the approval of the  Extraordinary Shareholders' Meeting, called on the same date of the Shareholders' Meeting that will be called to approve the annual financial statements. The notice of call of this Meeting and Report of the Board of Directors, pursuant to Article 125‐ter of Legislative Decree 58/1998, will be made available to the public according to the methods and terms set by the Law.
