Webuild U.S. subsidiary Lane achieves major milestone on Florida’s Turnpike project six months ahead of time

PRESS NOTES

MILAN, May 27, 2021 – Lane, a U.S. subsidiary of the Webuild Group, has achieved a major milestone six months ahead of schedule with the opening of three new ramps – including two flyovers – at the SR 417 Interchange of the Florida’s Turnpike in Orange County, improving mobility and safety.

The project is a major toll road within the U.S. state’s Turnpike System used by more than three million travellers every day. It is operated by Turnpike Enterprise under the Florida Department of Transportation. Valued at $177 million, it will reduce congestion by widening the Turnpike’s Mainline from Osceola Parkway to Beachline Expressway from four to eight lanes.

As part of the Florida Highway System, the Turnpike provides access to major routes from Miami to Central Florida, essential for access to tourist attractions that contribute to the local economy. The project is expected to be completed this summer.

Lane is pursuing a strategy focused on sustainable mobility and clean water in the United States, the single biggest market for Webuild in terms of revenue. Lane has nearly $500 million worth of active highway projects in Florida: the Poinciana Parkway Phase 2 in Osceola County; the Suncoast Parkway 2 in Hernando and Citrus Counties; and the Wekiva Parkway Section 8 in Seminole County. Lane is also building a $524-million reservoir in South Florida as part of the Everglades restoration, one of the largest restoration projects of its kind in the country.
