Lane is the prime contractor for the 10-mile reconstruction of Interstate 35 in the Waco region, in Texas.

The project includes 433,000 CY of PCC (331,052.25 m3), 300,000 tons of asphalt paving, 2 million CY (approximately 1.53 million m3) of excavation and 26 bridges, including a signature bridge over the Brazos River and a direct connector bridge connecting FM 2013 directly to the northbound lane I-35. Project elements include new two-lane asphalt and concrete frontage roads, concrete reconstruction of six main lanes (three in each direction). The work involves high volumes of excavation and embankment, miles of box culverts and reinforced concrete pipe, soil nail wall installation, and temporary and permanent retaining walls.

Accolades

Lane was awarded 1st Place in ARTBA's 2012 (Training Programs/State Level) for their Effective Use of Law Enforcement in Work Zones Training. The Brazos River Bridge portion of the project won the 2014 Engineering Excellence Award from the Florida Institute Consulting Engineers.
