In progress

The new metro in Lima, the city where it currently operates a single elevated metro line represents a strategic work in the capital and throughout the country.

Designed with cutting edge technical solutions, it will be able to meet the demands of citizens for greater enjoyment of the city, while contributing to the reduction of air pollution levels.
The project is expected to be completed in 5 years and is divided into line 2 (27km) and part of line 4 (8km) for a total of 35 km of underground tunnels.
It also includes 35 stations and 2 storage areas and 2 interchange stations between the lines.
The construction of different types of station are planned in relation to their location: cut and cover or cavern  (only Javier Prado).

In October 2023, the TBM "Micaela" completed the excavation of 4 km of tunnels, arriving at the E16 station.
In the coming months Micaela will be dismantled and moved to the ventilation shaft located on Faucett Avenue, to begin the construction of new 7.5 km of tunnel on the Faucett Avenue-Gambetta Avenue branch, from the Gambetta station to Carmen de la Legua station, where it will interconnect with Line 2.
