Lot 35B of the “EOLE” line (Est-Ouest Liaison Express) runs between the Gare du Nord and the Gare Saint Lazaire, in Paris. This new line is the city’s second underground East-West axis and is a significant contribution to the development of public transport infrastructures in the Paris region.

The works along the 1,900 m track included: a temporary access shaft (11 m diameter, 30 m deep), a permanent access shaft (108 m² cross-section, 30 m deep), ten tunnels (each 200 m long, excavated with traditional techniques). two parallel tunnels (each 1,700 m long with a 6.40 m final diameter, connected by three intersecting tunnels).

The two main tunnels were excavated using a hydroshield TBM (pressurised bentonite slurry), with a 7.40 m external diameter, 8.50 m long shield, for a weight of 380 tons.
