Webuild: award for Sustainability Report for commitment to decarbonise through innovation and digitalisation
Webuild recognised as best Italian publicly listed company for sustainability model based on verified data and digital processes
Award presented by University of Pavia and LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) Italy, now in 7th edition
Digital Twins, predictive analytics and traceability systems reduce consumption, emissions and waste across Group’s construction sites, while ecosystem of strategic subsidiaries accelerates adoption of circular practices and high-efficiency technologies across supply chain
MILAN, February 6, 2026 – Webuild has won first place in the “Listed Companies” category of the “Sustainability Report Award (“Premio al Report di Sostenibilità”), 2026 Edition, for the quality and transparency of its Sustainability Reporting and, in particular, for its commitment to decarbonize with the support of innovative and digital processes. Now in its 7th edition and promoted by the Department of Economics and Business Studies at the University of Pavia together with LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) Italy, the award confirms the strength of Webuild’s reporting in translating complex climate goals into transparent and measurable metrics.
The recognition underscores the solidity of Webuild’s and highlights the maturity of a business model that structurally integrates decarbonisation, turning it into a key value driver for communities, communities and stakeholders globally. The definition of a climate strategy supported by goals aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) demonstrates a transparent and structured approach to decarbonisation, reinforcing the Group’s role in the transition towards more sustainable development models.
This commitment takes shape in the projects delivered by the Group – from sustainable mobility infrastructure to major water and hydropower works to green building solutions – capable of generating environmental benefits thanks to a lifecycle-based perspective. This approach supports the development of integrated solutions for energy efficiency, water resource optimisation and sustainable use of materials starting from the design phase, also backed by the adoption of international sustainability protocols such as LEED, GSAS, IS Rating and Envision.
Across Webuild’s construction sites, technology plays a structural role in supporting sustainability, involving the entire supply chain and the Group’s subsidiaries. Digital twin models allow simulation of impact scenarios before construction begins; predictive algorithms help anticipate material needs, reducing surplus; and traceability systems monitor the entire procurement cycle.
This industrial model, deeply rooted in innovation and sustainability, is shared across all the Group’s companies. Among them, SELI Overseas applies high-efficiency tunnelling techniques and solutions to optimise the management of excavated materials; Cossi Costruzioni adopts advanced methodologies for structural monitoring; and WEM refurbishes machinery. This includes the large tunnel-boring machines deployed on some of Europe’s most complex projects: from the Salerno-Reggio Calabria high-speed railway to the Grand Paris Express – operating under a broad circular-economy approach. Abroad, subsidiaries Lane, Clough and CSC Costruzioni help extend Webuild’s standards even in the most challenging markets.
