Sustainable management of water

Currently almost 2.3 billion people live in areas subject to water stress.
At the same time, 80% of the world's water discharge is released into the environment without adequate treatment plants and the resulting water pollution contributes to the water shortage.
The increase in torrential rain linked to climate change is an additional factor of difficulty in numerous areas of the planet, where often obsolete water collection infrastructure is unable to guarantee adequate treatment, contributing to the degradation of the environment.

The contribution of Webuild
Webuild is one of the world's leading infrastructure players in the water sector according to the ENR classification. We operate along the entire water supply chain, from drinking and irrigation supplies to the final treatment of wastewater, and offer our customers sustainable solutions for:
- procuring, treating and desalinating water to be used as drinking water;
- collecting, sending and treating the waste water of large urban centres, improving the quality of water in water receptors (usually rivers or seas), reducing pollution and making water resources available for new uses, such as irrigation.
We serve over 20 million people in the world every day also using the plants constructed by , part of Webuild Group and world leader in water desalination and treatment.
More than 15 million people will benefit from the plants being built by Webuild Group that will be able to treat 8.8 million cubic metres of water per day.
